Disability Community Participation
Supporting You In Staying Active And Engaged Within Your Community.
We understand the value of staying connected with the wider community—it enhances physical well-being, mental health, and a sense of independence. That’s why we offer transport and dedicated disability support workers to help you remain active and engaged in your local area.
This ensures you can maintain connections with friends, family, and essential therapies beyond your home. Your NDIS plan outlines the community access support you require, and we work closely with you to ensure our services align with your goals. We assist with:
- Shopping trips
- Getting to appointments
- Getting to and from employment
- Participating in hobbies and social occasions
- Going on walks and getting active out and about
- Going on holiday

What are your favourite parts of the job?
I find so much joy in working within the disability field. It never truly feels like a job—when you love what you do, it becomes a passion. Whether offering a little support or a lot, I love knowing I’m making a difference. Seeing smiles, hearing laughter, and receiving heartfelt thanks makes every moment worthwhile. The people I work with inspire me; their stories and experiences enrich my perspective. Every day brings something new—no two days are ever the same, and that’s what keeps me motivated.
What do you get out of the shifts you work?
Every shift brings a new experience as I work with a diverse range of disabilities. No two individuals or moments are the same, and that’s what makes this work so meaningful. My goal is always to give my best during the time I have, ensuring everyone feels empowered to live the life they deserve. Being part of their journey toward independence and community connection is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that each shift contributes to making a real difference in someone’s life is what drives my passion for this work.

Comes across as friends
Sterling Care Australia connected me with a support worker who sees me for who I am, not just my disability. They’re more than a helper—they’re a true mate. The team at Sterling Care Australia feels like friends, always checking in, having a chat, and making sure I have the support I need.

Have A Question About Our Community Access Services?
These are some of the common questions we receive. Since everyone's needs are different, feel free to reach out with any inquiries—we’re here to help!
Ask a question
Does the community activity need to be an NDIS Goal?
Yes, to use NDIS funding for your activity, it must align with your NDIS goals. We can collaborate with your support coordinator and NDIS plan manager to determine the most suitable funding category for your needs.
What are your transport rates?
We believe that everyone has the right to access their community. Our goal is to keep transport fees fair while ensuring high-quality service. As a registered NDIS provider, we make our transport prices publicly available, and printed copies can be provided upon request. Feel free to reach out if you’d like a copy.
What kind of NDIS transport can you provide?
We take the time to understand your support needs and determine the right level of accessible transport for you. Whether you require a standard vehicle or a wheelchair-accessible option, we ensure your travel is safe and comfortable. Our trained support workers hold the necessary licences and certifications to get you to your destination securely and with care.
Can you support me on holiday?
Absolutely! Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy a holiday, and we’re here to provide the support needed to make it happen. If your NDIS goals include travel, we can arrange a disability support worker to assist you throughout your journey. Whether you’re planning a local getaway, a regional retreat, an interstate adventure, or even an international trip, we’re here to help you experience the joy of travel with confidence and ease.
